Nokia Series 40 internet proxy settings maker / download nokia s40 internet settings

I have seen many of my friends with nokia series
40 phones searching for the internet proxy settings for their S40 phones of specified service providers.
So I made one executable from a batch file to compile those settings.
This article contains download link for the settings maker and instructions about how to use it.
Also at the end of the article I have provided a download link for ready made compiled settings of some popular service providers.
I don't like that letmeknowww readers to ever ask anyone about their internet settings.
They should make their own. :D

The original .wml code I got over internet. And then I got it modified to executable.

But How to use this "nokia s40 internet settings maker" ?
You need a pc.

Bluetooth dongle with drivers installed.

If bluetooth dongle in not available in pc then atleast an USB and another phone with bluetooth functionality.

STEPS:
  1. First download the settings maker from the above link and extract it .Then install it in any folder.
  2. Now double click the file "S40 settings maker"
  3. enter the proxy server address you wish to be configured.
  4. enter the port number.
  5. enter the access point name (eg: airtelwap.com in airtel & mizone in bpl)
  6. When you get the message of settings compilation , goto the folder where you installed all files and search for file named "s40settings.prov"
  7. send this file through bluetooth or infrared to a nokia S40 phone.
  8. You will receive message "configuration settings received "
  9. save the settings in the phone.
  10. now make this setting as default in your phone.
  11. And now activate default settings in all applications.

I don't have infrared or bluetooth in my PC !!!?
  • Transfer the file "s40settings.prov" to another bluetooth or infrared enabled phone through USB cable. Then send the file to your phone. and follow the rest steps.

Important !!!

When transferring the file "s40settings.prov" to your phone , don't copy that file and paste in your phone.
Instead right click the file >> send to >>bluetooth >> your phone model

Here file transfer should take place through "object push" not by " file transfer".

If still the file is not getting send correctly then I suggest to transfer it to another phone and then send it to your phone (through bluetooth or infrared)
